| SO YOU ARE INTERESTED IN TRYING TO ROCK CLIMB... |
|
| First, lets start with the facts. Midwest Adventures, LLC.
stresses that no matter how safe you attempt to be in the outdoors, there may be serious
injuries. Many times the injuries and causes are beyond your control and/or not even
associated with the activity such as hypothermia and car accidents.
|
| |
| With that being said, we run a climbing class for beginners with
safety and fun being the utmost concerns. Top-rope climbing is the style in all scheduled
Midwest Adventures, LLC. rock climbing classes. Top-roping allows the climber to climb
freely with a rope that prevents any falls from the rock face at any point when the belay
partner is doing his job. The belay partner must have a valid drivers license or Midwest
Adventures, LLC staff will serve as the belay partner. The beginner class teaches basic rock
climbing skills, introduces required equipment and its correct use, and gets the students on
the rock. The intermediate class improves on climbers techniques and increases the technical
difficulty of the climbs.

Our focus is on youth and youth groups. We encourage BSA Climbing Merit Badge groups. All
merit badge requirements can be completed through our BSA registered counselors except
first-aid related requirements. We encourage Midwest Adventures, LLC staff to visit a troop
meeting prior to the outdoor climbing class. This troop visit is free to troops who pre-pay
at least 10 climbers for a scheduled outdoor class. Contact us to set up a plan for your group.
