We are a group who all love the outdoors and everything we can do in it. We all
have professional jobs and college degrees from Purdue, Indiana, or Indiana State.
We do this on our spare time because we love it, and our enthusiasm shows! We have
been featured in Outdoor Indiana (DNR) magazine with an 8-page spread including a
fabulous story and even more amazing pictures. This prompted a television debut
on Indiana PBS station 20 with an 11-minute segment on cave exploration. A second
television show is in the works for this spring on rock climbing in Indiana. Our
personal careers include working in rock climbing gyms, at outdoor equipment specialty
shops, for the Department of Natural Resources, as engineers, environmental scientists,
farmers, with Boy Scouts,and etcetera.
We all have families and enjoy spending time with them. Every day we realize how
important it is to give the kids some time and to teach them how to grow, explore, set
goals, and succeed. Putting this ideal to action with our love of outdoor adventure
sports was a natural union. In the fall of 2001 we formed Midwest Adventures, LLC.
and made plans to share our adventures.
Contrary to popular belief, there is a load of outdoor activities within an hour or two
from Indianapolis. Sure the Hoosier State does not have mountains, or giant redwood forests,
or endless deserts but we do have over 3,000 known caves, Hoosier National Forest, limestone
and sandstone rock cliffs to climb, great state parks, and lots of good people. Stepping just
across the Indiana state line in any direction opens up many more and many larger opportunities
including the longest cave system in the world, world-class climbing areas, 200 foot bluffs along
the Great Lakes, the largest river in the country and much more.
In a nutshell, we are not professional adventurer guides. Midwest Adventures, LLC is a company
that enjoys the midwest and the adventures there are to find. Let us introduce affordable local
adventure to you!
